Day Three: Rediscover

It’s no secret that moms often put their favorite hobbies to the side in the throes of motherhood. So much time and energy is spent caring for others that your own wants and needs can quietly fall away. While this is noble, and sometimes necessary, it’s still important to make space for the things that bring you joy.

Now that you’ve finished breastfeeding, you may find you have a little (emphasis on little) more time to do something that is simply for you. Something that feels light, creative, or energizing.

By this point in your motherhood journey, you may have even forgotten what that looked like. It’s easy to become consumed by the repetitive rhythms of motherhood, but it’s powerful for children to see their moms engaging in things they love. When you are passionate about something, it gives your children permission to pursue their own dreams as well.

In your Lactation Vacation Journal, day three is designed to help you rediscover those parts of yourself. You’ll have an opportunity to remember what you once loved and begin finding simple ways to bring pieces of your past self into your present life.
