Day Two: Rejuvenate
Let’s be honest. Motherhood does not always allow time for “self-care” in the way society defines it. There is a home to tend to, meals to prepare, schedules to hold together, and a constant mental list of everything that needs your time.
We’re often told to “fill our cup first,” and while the intention is beautiful, it’s usually painted as something simple: a bath, a face mask, a night out. Those moments can be meaningful, but self-care can and should be be something deeper than the surface level things.
What if self-care was not a checklist, but instead a way of creating a life you love living?
Creating a life you love can look like many different things. It can look like adding whimsy and romanticizing your life. It can look like taking an evening for yourself once a month. Or it can even look like doing hard things that make your life better, like exercising, eating nourishing foods, going to therapy, or working to overcome your shortcomings. We can expand the definition of self-care to mean anything that makes your life more joyful.
On your Lactation Vacation, day two is partly about giving you the opportunity to do all of the traditional self-care things you haven’t had time or energy to do since becoming a mom. Things like bath bombs, face masks, and comfort items are included in your experience box. Regarding the Lactation Vacation Journal, you will have the opportunity to answer questions about how you want self-care to look like after going home and guided exercises on how to implement systems in your home.
The goal of day two is to fill your cup and to make a plan for how you will continue to take care of yourself once you return home. We want your Lactation Vacation to give you the resources you need to change your life for the better, even just a little bit.
